General Description |
Garhwa was separated from the Palamau district in 1991. The district is surrounded by the river Sone in the north; Palamau district and part of Chhatisgarh in the south; Palamau district in the east and Sarguja district of Chhatisgarh and Sonebhadra district of U.P. in the west. Garhwa is infamous for supplying a large number of child labourers to the carpet-weaving industry of Uttar Pradesh. |
